Tragically just before midnight on December 25th 2009, our friend and brother Keith Chapin was taken from us. The Tidewater area music scene as well as his close friends and family were shocked to find out the news of Keith's unexpected passing. Not only does this leave a giant empty crater within the metal and hardcore community, but also in our hearts and souls. Keith is just as irreplaceable as a front man as he is a friend, brother, nephew, cousin, significant other, or whatever way he touched your life. Very few were like him, eventhough many tried to be. Keith was an honest, straight forward individual, and you never had to wonder where you stood with him. When he walked into a room, the place lit up. When he saw a familiar face, he greeted them with open arms, even if he couldn't remember your name, he knew who you were. He knew what band you were in, because he always made it a point to be at the show early enough to see the first band. For the people who knew him, this is all just common knowledge. For those of you who didn't know him, hopefully this will serve as a small glimpse into who Keith was, and the impact he had on all of our lives. I think I can speak for all of the hardcore hooligans when I say that we love you and will always cherish the times we had. Rest In Peace brother. |
