Main Influences: Cliff Burton, Tom Araya, all kinds of metal and rock musicians. Also, vocally, Kirk Windstein of Crowbar was a big influence. Previous Bands: Anger, Cut-Throat, Clover Soda, The Dirt Cheap Band, and Reign Of Terror. I got around back in the day, haha.
Best Experiences: First of all, freedom. You don't really appreciate it untill it gets taken away from you. Playing in bands over the years. It's a great release. I also want to add Download's duration. We've been around for almost 6 years, and we're not even close to being finished yet. I still think there's a lot ahead of us. Worst Experiences: Getting locked up. It's never fun.
Funniest Mishap: My infamous jump, the vertical scissor. It was at our show at Zakk's in Murfreesboro, NC. I think we were playing "We Only Bleed For Family" and I jumped on the mosh part, and it came out kind of awkward. It was almost like my body never moved, just my legs hinged up a little. Too bad it ended up on video. One day Travis brought over a dvd of the show and we were watching it, and of course, when it got to that part, everyone was joking around. Then at the end of the song, with no warning at all, the video cuts back to the jump and looped it about five or six times, then the last one was in slow motion. Everyone in the room started laughing so hard that most of them were in tears. I was like "Fuck all y'all motherfuckers." Travis still has that on his computer, so I probably shouldn't piss him off because that vid may end up on the internet, haha. Equipment: Ibanez bass, Marshall Amp, and Audio Technica wireless.
Hobbies: Music is a big hobby of mine. Not just playing music, but checking out new bands, too. I'm always down with hearing some new shit. Of course drinking beer, haha. I think my biggest hobby though, is Download.
What Got You Into Heavy Music: Getting my first guitar. I've always liked playing it heavy. I guess Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden was really what got the ball rolling for me. What Else Do You Listen To Besides Heavy Music: I listen to a little country like Hank and Johnny Cash. I also like listening to old punk and hard rock. Southern rock is also one of my favorite types of music to listen to.
